if you try to use ambush stance on an open plain, chances are it will fail.
if you try to use it in a forest, its more likely to succeed than not.
Ok i should make myself clear i know that already, you would think i kind of figured that out after 200+hr of gameplay.
Yes but how does this work do you catch them as they walk in the open?or is it like standard battle but maybe you spawn behind them?or standard battle but at night?
If an enemy army marche into your army's sphere, you get the option to spring the trap. If you do so, battle will commence. The enemy army will be marching in a mostly randomly determined line, and you get to deploy troops all around them, as opposed to just right in front of them as it would be in a normal battle.
Since the enemy army isn't in combat formation, and your units can charge in from all sides, you'll have a pretty great tactical advantage.
he cannot control his men until one of your units is spotted, so you can hide your men, wait for his men to march into the perfect spot, and then spring the trap.
i imagine having this happen to you would be scary, watching your men marching into a trap and you cant do anything lol.
I play on hard and i have never been ambushed myself so dont know if the AI even can(another thing if the IQ lvl is high enough as we know by now its not:P)
