This.
His use of clips is very clever and he edits well. However I find him a little obnoxious. I’m English, it might be a cultural thing.
EA?????
The graphics are better ..the AI is deffinately better after the patch2. THe Capaign mapis the best now that it's not lagging at all. The diplomacy works good if you play for more than 30 min and actaully understand the mechanics of the game as it was intended and learn how to use your characters and buildings. The game is alot deaper than it appears it just developes as it goes. You have to work for some of the goodies in the game you don't just get all the bells and whistles at first.
Just for fun I loaded up Medieval 2 and Rome 1 And can't even play them because they look and function like a old turd compaired to R2TW.
I can't run the game on extreme but I don't expect ot on my system but it still looks and feels great on high settings. I agree it sucks that not every system can run it without problems . But if you are lucky and get it patched up and working I can't see how you couldn't like it unless you just wanted another exact TW clone with better graphics and a couple new features. In wich case you wont like this game because it is different and far superior in almost all ways sans a few bugs from my point of view.
*One thing I will admit is they should have included alot more instruction /tutoirial/ and manual as there is alot of features you can miss out on that will make the game seem pointltess if you don't know how it works. Now that I have played around with everything and read some of the Player guides, I see the light.
Still the current unit behaviour in Battles is on big blob heaven. Maybe the AI is smarter , .. who can tell in that big furball ? Also ... I am so tired of the slingers and spearmen AI stacks.
Compare Rome 2 with Shogun 2, not with Rome 1. Cause thats the benchmark.
He is a good reviewer but I hafta say this....... he is a bloody drama queen.... and I am not just talking about the Rome 2 review..... a lot of his reviews seem like knee jerk reactions which is good and bad, its good because you don't get many reviewers that give knee jerk reaction reviews but its bad because well there are a plenty of randomers on the internet who will chuck out knee jerk reactions in forums etc.
This is why Joe will never be my number one reviewer, he will regretfully remain number 2, my number one is classic games room, for the sexy voice and because they don't score the games they are like the opposite of the knee jerk reviewer.
They tell you the good, they tell you the bad and they let you decide without putting any number on it.
I normally watch multiple reviews of a game though, IGN usually you can atell whats wrong with a game by reading between the lines, ''fast paced arcade shooter'' usually means crap graphics + linear gameplay, then I watch a gamespot review they are meh but I watch it any way, then I watch an angry joe after that I use my magical calculator to make a decision.
Unfortunately my fav reviewers aren't always up to speed with whats coming out so I combine the aformentioned triumvirate of the Bad, the Boring and the Angry.
