Patch 1.5 beta help
Im not a scrub and know how to use this stuff, but im no expert so what do i do if steam dosnt start the 1.5 beta patch automatically?

Here's things i have done.

Went to betas from properties and selected 1.5 beta patch. Says i did it after selecting it.
Waited an hour and no download.
went back to do it and the settings where back to opt out and blue..couldnt select it as drop down
Exited steam and restarted, went to options, now able to move it agian, said opt out, says i joined...still no download after another hour or two...

Am i missing something? Only other option is for me to coppy app folders and just reinstall steam and copy app folder over so i dont have to reinstall/download all these steam games >.>

Another thing...has anyone noticed ALOT of threads are gone? was just in 2 threads about Steam not downloading patches/betas bc im not only one...and now they are gone, or at least i cant find it...confused...

have you tried changing which server you download from in your steam settings?

Nope will try now!
You don't need a code. Those are only for private patches you won't be able to see anyway.

Simply select the patch and that's it. If it doesn't download straight away, verify game cache. Or exit steam and start it again.

Honestly, CA's handling of the patches is kind of poor as there's no good in-game indication of what version is installed. The version numbering is off and unreadable for me.
Wll that didnt work, yet i think my bro who did this clean install for me missed 1 file, bc looking at our files (he still has beta patch on his PC) his users/appdata rome2 file is bigger than mine...so obviously we have to have something different. Yet when i open Rome 2 game, the patch number on top right is same as his...

Can someone tell me who KNOWS they have the beta installed (it's on your games 'opt in' option) can you tell me what patch numbers are under your V1.0.0? Thanks!
Well to some avail, for ppl having this problem, I have found that Im at current patch version (with beta) and i only downloaded game straight from steam...which tells me that they must have incorporated the patches into the 9.9GB download/install...6855454492 is current patch.
It's strange I downloaded the version yesterday evening, and I have the version v1.0.0 6858453644.
i think it's a steam problem as well. I have the EXACT same problem.

i click on properties. Select beta 1.5. the only option was to (close) there is no download button...nothing that reaffrims me that it's downloading or anything. ...it's been like this since the first beta...what am i missing here?
IDK and sadly this could be fixed answered by 1 person who has gotten the 1.5 beta before...guess community isnt all about helping lol.
I'd be happy to help, but I don't understand what it is that you're asking for.
when you select beta 1.5 drop the drop down menu. NOTHING HAPPENS. and the only other option you can select is CANCEL.

It would be good once you select the beta 1.5 something comes out and let you know it's downloaded?

We wanting to know what build it's you have and what patch are you?

We are wanting to get 1.5 beta and either we cant bc it wont download or ppl are unsure if they have it or not. So we just need to know your build number which is under your Version 1.0 at title screen in Rome 2
If it doesn't download you might have to variefy the game files after you've selected the patch. It didn't download for me before I verified the files.
mine saids 1.0.0 and the a bunch of 63487584 after it. it's clearly 1.0.0 not 1.5.

if beta 1.5 can only be identified by the bunch of 0193284723984 after 1.0.0 then as a GAME DEVELOPER YOU NEED TO LET US KNOW. SO WE KNOW IF IT"S DOWNLOADED OR NOT.

can you please let me know how to verify the game files?
Right click game in library and select properties, go to local files, select verify integrity of game cache. Has to be in online mode and might take a while...
After you select the 1.5 beta update the only option is Close, not cancel.

I suggest changing your Library to "Games List" under View. From there you can see if your game starts to update, also at the very bottom of the Steam UI, between "+ add a game..." and "View Friends List", a new item will show up, it should say "1 Item Downloading" or "1 Item Completed" (or something along those lines). You can click on that to view how far along your update is.

If you cannot get it to begin downloading I would suggest changing the Server that you are downloading from in your Steam Settings, turning off AntiVirus real-time protection, turning off Windows Firewall, Turning off UAC and bypassing Router Firewall (if possible). If none of that works you should open up a ticket with Steam support, but they're just going to ask for a MSINFO report and then proceed to tell you that you have software installed on your computer that is interfering with Steam, or they will recommend for a fresh Windows install.

There are some other odd tricks you could try, if you google your problem. People have found success in the past with renaming the ClientRegistry.blob file in your steam folder. Also if steam has become corrupted, support will recommend that you either A) type "steam://flushconfig" (no quotes) into internet explorer. B) Delete everything in your steam directory except for Steam.exe, Steamapps and Userdata folders. You can find all of those troubleshooting tips by googling your problem.

Hope that helps.
