They pulled an old totalitarian play, criticism does not exist, everyone love Rome II and understand that "as with all large PC releases, the variety of hardware and general system specifications can cause issues for some people and we are urgently working to help get them the right experience.".(Clearly hardware affects AI, diplomacy, pathfinding and multiplayer).
They're full of ♥♥♥♥, hopefully it'll bite them up the ass soon.

metacritic says you will either love it to a 10 or hate it to a 0. so if you believe that then this is a godlike game that doesnt work for less than half the people :P

mostly 10's and 0's

when i checked last night there were more positive than negative, thats switched around now but still mostly 10's and 0's.

avg score is 4.6 yet out of 750 votes only 50 are actually 'Mixed'

People really struggle with objectivity is all that says. Some people go nuts on brand loyalty; look at apple fanboys, and some people go overboard if they feel let down.

I think the game is a big let down, its not a 0 obviously but its not up to scratch for a TW game for sure. Trying to be objective its probably a 6.5 or 7 in my opinion. What sucks most is i'd never have ranked a previous TW that low. Its not even the bugs and optimisation that bother me so much, as i know they will surely fix those, its the sucky changes and stripping back of tried and tested features and the poor replacements for those features.

Even empire, for which i wasn't really feeling the setting, wasn't a 6.5/7 for me. It was still a cracking game despite its problems. Shogun, for the time, Rome 1 and Med 1 & 2 were awesome.

To paraphrase "We who are considered gods fall furthest". We expected a really cracking game like the others they have delivered. We really didn't get it. They fell a long way.

AI has always been bad in their games.. wait for mods and don't use it as an excuse to write off a really good total war. They muffed up diplo a tad and the units themselves while they respond much more realistically and faster they don't have they feeling they used to in shogun or empire or etc. These things are all changable variables. The real problem for me is the new multiplayer system.. they need to bring back avatar campaign and ♥♥♥♥.. that is something that wont just be a quick patch or mod

Stop pre-ordering Total War and other games in general then. This isn't new to Total War being sold a BETA on launch day, Shogun 2 didn't even launch with dx11, it was dx9. Shogun 2 wasn't even playable for me when it launched either, but now I get over 90fps full detail 4xAA @ 3240x1920? Battles with over 12k soldiers and no slowdowns, what?

I'll kindly wait till this game blows my mind, just like Shogun 2 did. If you can't wait start playing Solitaire HD if you want instant 100% working on release day for every single differing system out there.
