Working 'Cheat' To get more money :)
This worked on Shogun 2 and outside using some horrid cheatengine bloatware was the only real way to 'cheat' some cash in the game.

First of all download this file, its safe and alot of you will already have it from Shogun2 (Its just the unpacker for the esf files, some of you have used it for 40 units not 20 in campaign)

**removed**

Once downloaded extract all files to a folder. Open the software EditSF and open your saved game campaign file.

(Make sure you backup your save game first, Best thing to do before you edit your save is to load it, then just double save it with w/e name and edit the newest saved one, so you always got that vanilla save from where your edit point was to go back to for whatever reason.)

Save games can be found here
C:>Users>USERNAME>AppData>Roaming>The Creative Assembly>Rome 2>save_games.

Once you open the save game file in EditSF navigate to:

Campaign_Save_Game>Compressed_Data>Campaign_Env>Campaign_Model>World>Faction_Array>Faction_Array>Faction_Economics

The Top Entry field will be your current money amount. Change it to what you want(not to high, safe bet is under 99999) then Save,
It can take a few seconds so let it save.

Then load your Savegame and you'll have way more cash, sounds complicated way I have it typed out but its very easy and idiot proof :)

I realise games like this dont need cheats, and people will moan about it, but Im a TW vet been playing since Shogun1, and I see no harm in messing about if you wish. Or perhaps you want the best difficulty so you get AI that isnt laughably bad or rout every fight, but you cant grasp the campaign just yet to do it without a helping hand.

Why bother writing in this thread if you just post the above ? if your not interested in what the OP says then just move on, simple.

sadly, with any new release you usually have to wait a good month to actually get decent posts on the forums.

I don't know about legendary, but playing on Very Hard, I got more money than I can spend... Especially with this stupid popcap on armies. Makes cheats like this kind of pointless. But that's just my opinion anyway..

I dont actually use it myself, but I was curious if it worked the same as shogun2, I like to tinker.

And again im sure someone will have use to it, esp since we have alot of new TWcomers with rome2 market hype. Alot prob just wana do big battles and are finding it hard to learn campaign(have patience for it or w/e)

hey cheat engine is a good piece of software don't hate it and call it bloatware ... who cheats in this game anyway it's easy as ♥♥♥♥
Hydronicus 9 września 2013 o 19:16
someone with half a brain could use cheatengine and just find the code easily with like 2 searches if they really wanted to cheat, this method is just too annoying compared to the other options available
Shane 9 września 2013 o 19:29
You can do alot of modding this way, is good practice. and cheatengine is riddled bloatware, have fun with it
Bulletsponge788 9 września 2013 o 19:32
be careful i tried out cheatengine to see if it would still work and it works fine but adding to much money will break the diplomatic section, because you can only add a certain amount of money based on how much wealth a faction has. so if you give yourself 999999999 money when a faction tries to ask for money for peace or non aggresssion pact the lowest amount of money they can ask for is like 98000000 and it goes up from there, you cant just type in a custom amount like in other totalwar games

Hi, I have EditSF 1.0.7 and tried following your instructions... it wont save the new edited file - the text turns red. Any advice?
Shane 19 września 2013 o 9:26
Should do just hit enter after ur change itll go red to show youve made a change, then just save/save as and give it a min. You can even do it with rome running as its just the savegame stats ur changing
