Local Multiplayer game?
Can someone tell me how to go about setting up two desktop computers in the same room on the same network to play Rome II multiplayer?

You need 2 steam accounts owning the game, and you also need them both connected with lan cables and that's pretty much it.

Thanks for the info Deserada. So does that mean I have to buy the game twice if I have to go through two steam accounts? Is there any way we can play the game just by copying the game from my main steam folder on my main computer to my second computer and playing through my network?

You're forced to buying a copy on 2 different accounts. There is of course another way without having to buy 2 copies, but that's illegal and against the rules, so i'm not gonna go into details about that.

Sadly BillyWho, games have been like this for a long time now. No longer will 1 copy of a game be enough to play local co-op and such. Since most games have product codes and authentification servers, those days are over. :(

Hence the reason I don't pay for games. I thought if I paid for this one I'd be able to play it with my bro when he visits. I have 2 desktop comps and have the game running on both but I can't connect them for a multiplayer game... As I said before what a waist of money... :(

um you can play it with only one copy of the game
just play it on a local network and theres no issue since your steam accounts don't have to be online together
