Spartan Total Warrior

To those who remember this game, while I admit this is somewhat random, but I still play that game to date. Is Creative Assembly ever going to make anything like that again? And if so, can I get a link? I have to say I am looking forward to Rome Total War II, but a Spartan Total Warrior II (or just another 'RPG' styled Total War game) would just make my nerdage skyrocket. I love RTS games (albeit I suck at them), but Spartan felt amazing with it's (somewhat) simplified combat yet GIANT battles waged around the player. Far larger than Dynasty Warriors or any other competing game ever made. And Arena was fantastically fun with how you could gain allies through compaign unlocks. Gahh... I'll be right back. Playing it again. :3

RYSE is just like that game but it is from the romans point of view and its on the console its new too

That game was awesome. I remember renting it every few weeks at Blockbuster for the ps2 back when i was younger :p

Ryse is an xbox one exclusive i believe? No idea if its coming out for pc. Think im going ps4 for Infamous/killzone, in my opinion ps4 has better exclusives so far, so i'll most likely get that... eventually. Used to play spartan total warrior ALL the time on ps2.

even better, they should totally do new versions of time commander and decisive battles using the new game engine, that would be awesome.

Apparently Ryse isn't all that challenging.

From what I've read, even if you mess-up the quicktime events, you still get a kill. It's almost impossible to die unless you jump off a cliff or something. =.=

Ryse looks to close up for it to be as fun as Spartan. With Spartan the epicness was the dozens of people on screen at once, not so much the time period (althought that was awesome too).

Viking Battle of Asgard was a good game too (it was made by Creative Assembly wasn't it? :P) but yeah Spartan Total War was amazing, I hope they would make us a next gen game similar to that, perhaps mix it up make it action rpg / Strategy at the same time !

just play mount and blade, it does all that pretty much, and probably later this year we'll have an all new version, bannerlord which should hopefully be pretty epic.

just play mount and blade, it does all that pretty much, and probably later this year we'll have an all new version, bannerlord which should hopefully be pretty epic.

already play it with War of the Roses and Chivalry, good games. still waiting on their new mount and blade :>

meh, didnt really enjoy war of the roses, i liked chivalry a lot better, but still, neither are even close to as just plain fun as mount and blade.

agree there also M&B single player was kinda fun too shame it was somewhat limited

M&B single player is most of what i played, and it is certainly not limited, there is tons to do and a million great mods.

only wish they'd had a single player campaign for the napolean expansion.

didn't try the mods, but I played the first M&B Single player, it was limited by technology somewhat, they could add a lot of features and expand on it, perhaps people already done that with the mods etc, but iv been out of the loop for a while, gona have to wait for the new one and see what happens

Hard to enjoy War of the Roses when your ping is near enough 400 Dragor ;)

A new mount and blade with some more features does look good though! I am really quite eager to see more

the M&B engine is definitely limited, but when you consider that it was originally a 7 year long project by a husband and wife in turkey and that the current game is still built on that old and somewhat amateur code, its quite amazing to see what they've done.

the first one was a little limited in some ways sure, ive been playing sinec 0.69 when the game cost just $10, and i put more hours into it than i could possibly count.

warband and with fire and sword were much more detailed.

the sheer variety of mods always made the game fresh though, heck, while waiting for rome 2 grab one of the rome mods for warband and give it a try
