- IF you have to go that way because you didnt build siege equipmen
- or the ladders your supplied
- or ballistas that are so useful for any army, i cant think of a reason not to have some
- take them though 1 at a time and capture the gate before you take the rest of the army though - it'll still be bad but you'll win
Good luck trying to explain it to anyone though, they'll just tell you not to use the gate.
While I agree, its about the 105th thing on the list of things I would like fixed.
Because the pathing on walls is so bad, I tend to just swamp the wall with ladders and ignore the gate. Knocking down the wall with a tortoise is also very satisfying
But as another poster said, this is something like the 105th feature in a long list of features that needs fixing.
It's a never ending stream, putting a couple of hoplite units at the gate and the AI will litteraly get stuck in the oil, and since it never ends and the AI can't use ladders correctly, you're pretty much garunteed a win.
