best units in each category?

what would you guys say the best units are in the game for each category?
Heavy infantry, light infantry, missile infantry ect ect

Parthian noble cavalry - best cavalry
Parthian noble cav archers - best cavalry archers
Dismounted parthian nobles - best infantry
Dismounted parthian noble cav archers - best missile troops

Best cavallery: Saka cataphracts

Best Spear infantry - hard choice but has to be royal spartans
Best Archer cav - parthian noble archers
Best heavy cav - proably Cataphrats
Best pike infantry - nt sure

oathsworn is gg vanilla heavy infantry unit but thracian nobles (odrysian kingdom) absolutely destroy them 1v1

if an oathsworn and a berserker had a baby it would be a thracian noble.

Best sword inf- Galation Sword nobles
Best Spear- Royal Spartans
Best Archer- kinda hard to pick but i have to go with Pathian archers
Best Horse Archer- Any of the Nomadic tribe horse archer
Best shock cav- Saka Cataphrats
Best cav- Azat Knights

Best units in game...those led by a competant General and a great RTW2 player....they can overcome just about any AI led mob.

The thing about best units in the game is that they are not practical to create...the best units are the ones that perform best for your needs and are equally inexpensive so you can field them without breaking the bank......

Yeah but if you use them to cover gates in sieges. I assume they do well.

I suppose any pike unit in formation is formidable from the front even my perioikoi pikemen are good at defending my cities in my garrison armies

Id say Hellenic Royal Guards as best pike if not then foot companions
