Pontic Army?
What do you guys think is the best build for Pontus with the standard 11700?

Usually I like to get about 4 Bronze shields with 2 hoplites supporting.
3 javelinmen
2 chariots and spend the rest of Noble Blood cav.

What say you?

Sorry I am new to TW, what is 'the standard 11700'?

Not exactly sure what you mean by standard 11700, but I played Pontus a while ago and my army build was 6 hoplites, 5 pontic swordsmen, 4 eastern archers, 2 ballistae, 2 noble blood cavalry, and a chariot general. I prefer the range of the archers to the damage of javelins. I also did not use pikemen beacuse I am more of an offensive player and before the last update pikemen always broke formation to charge. I have been playing barabarian factions for a while so I have not gotten to see if the pikemen got better.

Curious - why archers instead of slingers? I use achers, too - one on each flank for the morale breakers. But always have slingers - they are just too deadly.

By standard 11700 i mean the amount of money you have to spend in multiplayer, and thanks for the replies. Javelins seem to be doing really well after the latest patch so I sacrifice the range for the extra damage.
Also been practicing with chariots. Used those instead of the Pontic Royal Cavalry.

Archers have better piercing against heavily armored units. I like slingers and use them early on but when when you are firing at a charging wall of heavy shock cavalry, archers get noticeably more kills which makes up for the less ammo they have. I do use slingers for barbarians and factions that can't easily access archer units. And after the most recent patch, archers are the best way to take down elephants and chariot units without losing a great deal of units.
