Siege Ladders
This has got to be a bug as it is an incredibly crap feature if not.

I am attacking a provincial capital and have deployed ladders. My men are not pushing them along but merely nudging them forward a meter then taking in the scenery for around 20 seconds. Then nudging them forwards another meter. At this rate the 60 min battle timer will have finished long before they reach the walls (not to mention the number of men that survive the arrows).

Any ideas?

Sying it again get Ballista. They are good for smashing down walls and killing troops. Have taken several towns with out a fight just used Ballista with 0 deaths on my army.

Something similar happened to me with some siege towers but in my case they were actually getting physically stuck in the environment props. Despite the updates the ai pathfinding in this game is seriously screwy. If your ladders keep stopping and starting maybe its just a random bug or if its happening all the time in every siege then maybe take a look at your settings, its possible if you're using large/ultra sized units then maybe the ai can't process it all fast enough and is getting bottlenecked or something.

Having the same problem. I'm also having a problem where I capture points in the town but nothing happens--towers keep firing at me and gates remain shut. I don't think how I'm going to expand enough to get ballistas without being able to capture any walled towns.
