How to recruit Legionaries?
I forgot how to recruit legionaries (haven't played in about 6 months) and I forgot what I need and research tech I need for it (mostly having trouble since I played base Rome and not the "Emperor Edition" which reworked the whole game).

Look at the tech, hover your mouse over them and see what it allows you to build. And the tech will be a read tech.

It takes a while to reach that part of the tech tree, it's in the middle of one of the military sub-trees anyway. You can always use the encyclopedia to see other tech requirements.

Okay, I noticed it. In Total War: Rome 2 (not Emperor Edition), wasn't it always in the middle of the "Military" tech tree, or has it always been in the far right tech tree?

That's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I liked Rome for the constant shift of units from tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3 from each level of the tree. Thank you. I guess Hastati will be sieging Carthage. Yay?

Yeah.

I actually thought the "Marian Reforms" happened too fast in RTW and could happen too fast in Rome II at release (if you just went straight for the required research from the get go).

By the time you can actually build nice, large stacks of pre-Marian legions, there is no sense in doing it.
