How To Select Multiple Units to GIve Commands To
I am able to select individual units during battle and order them to a specific area.
How does one select a group of different units simultaneously? In other words, how can I select multiple units and give them a general movement order?

Thanks in advance!

you use left or right click i dont rmrb wich its been so long.basicly you click and drag while holding your mouse button dont.that with make a box while you drag.any unit in the box when you let go of your mouse button will all fallow the order you give.

Selection

By units
Ctrl + Click to cherry pick multiple units
Shift + Click to select ranges of multiple units
Ctrl + A to select 'em all

By arms:
Ctrl + C to select cav
Ctrl + M to select missile
Ctrl + B to select arty
and Ctrl + I is melee infantry

By groups:
G to group the units you have currently selected. Ctrl G if you want them locked into their current formation.
Ctrl + <number> to put the selected units in a numbered group (you can then just press the number after that to select them)

Movement

You can:
1. Draw out formations with right click and drag (if you just right click the unit will walk, if you click and drag out a formation it will run)

2. Drag and drop your selected units (you can use control+left and right with the mouse to rotate them before letting go) - if you drag and drop they will run, but if you are holding ctrl when you release the mouse they will walk

3. Use the cursor keys to move and ctrl+arrows to increase/decrease file or rotate a unit. If you hold shift while doing this they will walk to their new positions, if not they will run

Toggle walk/run for the selected units by pressing R, about face by pressing J, and hit backspace to stop them.

Hope this helps, have fun :)

Heh sorry - long posts like that are a side-effect of having to wait for tests to run when all the other work is done :)

Thank you so very much for the detailed (and very useful) information! I will be using the suggested techniques quite often! I copied and pasted to notepad, then printed out your information for reference!

%appdata% in the search bar.
Go to AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Rome2\scripts
Back up and delete preferences.script.txt to reset settings.

Stop bumping decade old threads.

I'm sorry, but your advice didn't help me.
Perhaps you have another solution to the problem?
