Capture a settlemetn with iron...

Egypth (4 province)
Galatia et Cappadocia (4 province)
Armenia (3 province)
Pannonia (3 province)
Aquitania (2 province)

Could be more, anyways...

Yeah, I had the same problem as well. I took Pannonia and Aquitantia. They are close to Italy, plus you need the upgrades when you get a bigger Imperium rating. Diplomacy fails more often, so the extra edge you can give your armies the better. Even outnumbered, you have a good chance of winning battles with the workshop upgrades.

isn't it supposed to show the option to be built tho? (just grayed out with the pre-requisites listed) cuz the only option i have is to build the siege engineers workshop and thats only grayed out cuz i haven't researched the tech yet

You can only build Armorer and Weaponssmith in regions with Iron, durrrr

As you might know, it was IMPOSSIBLE in ancient times to mine iron and then transport it someplace else. It's because...eh...magnetism, yeah, thats it.

They are no longer in the workship line. Armorer and Weaponsmith are now options in the town main line. But only in the regions with iron.

I own all of the provinces with marble and yet I cannot build a collusseum in Rome. I have all of the tech tree prereqs researched. Does anyone know how exactly this new "resource" system works?

Anyone can again clearly be explained?I don't understand. This is a bug or no? And what you need to get the workshops? Need iron (compulsory)?
SuperGorp Oct 19, 2014 @ 1:52pm
I thought you could build a workshop in any province capitol once you got iron and the technology.

You can build a workshop in every province.

You can build armorer/weaponsmith only in the iron regions, because it is the regions main town building.

Only specific building upgrades need one of the ressources. Those ressources can come from your own regions (factionwide) or through trade.

I just tested it out in the prologue and i can build the armourer and weaponsmith in province capitals is it not supposed to be this way in the grand campaign?
Nelson Oct 29, 2014 @ 2:20pm
nope, most iron ressources are in minor settlements, not province capitals.
