Ambush Tatics. How do you use them best?

Is there any tricks or tips? Do you use a small Bait Force to lure them into an Ambush? anyone try this ?

If you have a city you think your enemy will attack you put an army in ambush stance in woods along the most direct route from the nearest enemy army. If it works the army will disappear from your enemies view and the enemy will walk right up to it.

Yes, I have used a small "baiting" force on occasion. The "bait" is just behind the army in the ambush stance and within that armies area of influence.

Hold the mouse cursor over the terrain (if you don't do so already). This gives a % for the success of the ambush.
