Rome II Emperor Edition Province Building Strategies
With the release of Emperor Edition all the buildings have been overhauled and rebalanced, alot of us will agree it's like a completely different game.

Certain provinces have particular bonuses to certain types of wealth ie percentage bonuses to agriculture, industry or commerce. This (for me anyway) encourages players to specialise their provinces to maximise on these bonuses, however this can lead to upsetting public order and food balance.

I was just wondering what sort of successful builds people are using with all the new options available? Any culture, any speciality.

pff I just ignore all of those temple and only build the one that give food and orders, probably the best temple for the Egypt(I yet to try other factions). But yeah you will need to plan out what you want to do with each province now, I have 3 provinces and my economic is a mess... :D

For instance playing as Rome. Each province capitol I make sure to build at least one Aqueduct building type and at least one forum type building (and that's EVERY capitol). I build as few military buildings as possible and most of my lads are recruited from Rome no matter how far from Rome I conquer (taking casualties is fine, losing entire units is not) 3 and 4 city provinces get at least (usually just) 2 religious buildings. In upgrading the city I just about always make food an at least +2 advantage on every city, in my book you can never have enough food. From what I'm reading on the forums I must be doing okay cuz from normal to V/H I can make money and keep the plebs happy.

I've been experimenting with a Roman build. It's fairly universal to all provinces with slight tweaks depending on inherent bonuses. It's focused on taking slaves and keeping public order high.

Tax rates don't affect your income from slaves, so you can essentially lower tax rates and your income will keep climbing as you expand. In times of peace when slave population declines, just increase taxes again, even to the highest level if your provinces can take it. The buildings are stacked to provide the maximum public order bonuses as well as maximising on wealth types.

I've found this build works particularly well with the House of Junia as you get additional public order bonuses. Your wealth will be so insane with this build you can buy any treaty you want so the diplomatic penalty doesn't really mean anything.

Standard farming or no particular specialisation province is:

-Small settlement: Civil Town, Farm, Theatre, Shipwright
-Main settlement: Garrison City, Temple of Minerva, Amphitheatre, Wine Trader, Slave Trader, Shipwright

Industry Province:

-Small settlement: Civil Town, Mine, Theatre, Shipwright
-Main settlement same as above

Commerce province:

-Small settlement: Civil Town, Trader, Theatre, Trading Port
-Main settlement same as above, but with Trading Port if available.

Military province use provinces that have no real specialisation and have 3 settlements and leave them permantely untaxed so they don't eat food and you won't miss the small income they make:

-Small settlement 1: Civil Town, Grain Pit, Auxillary Barracks
-Small settlement 2: Civil Town, Temple of Mars, Legionary Barracks
-Main Settlement: Garrison City, Melee Attack, Melee Defence, Shooty, Cavarly training grounds.

All the buildings can be upgraded to level 4, but upgrade them all at the same time when the technology has been researched so the whole province will be level 2,3 or 4 with the exception of the Theatres and Shipwrights, because there's no penalty for them being level 4. Also military stuff can be upgraded when ready because they are untaxed.

With regards to Military Wharfs, just build them here and there preferably attatched to your military provinces so you don't lose the food. It may also be worth having the odd Fishing Port here and there, but no more than one per province though as the public order penalties are extreme on these.

When all research is complete, switch your temples to Jupiter. That's pretty much it, hopefully others will find this useful or give you ideas of your own.

Wow sounds great, hope they gave people the freedom to build their own cities in their empire now. But I bet it's still the very few buildings per city ;)

So, my question though what for Rome itself in general? I havent found the right buildings and somehow still get my butt kicked.

Do buildings like Lepcis' Grain Irrigated Farm Town give agricutural, industrial etc % bonuses to just that province or to all cities?

If there is "factionwide" or "all regions" in description, it applies to all cities
If its not, it applies only to province

First, necropost. The topic is about patch 16, while asking about patch 17.

Faction trait is for all, the building, as in description, is for that province.

And both are for farms only, no industrial bonus. And this building is the same for all Romans.
