for my part I have a crash of the game before certain battles during the loading of the map and the only solution for the moment is to succeed in closing the game when I can with the creation of a new desktop to be able to end the task on the game and to relaunch it and to do the battle in automatic so I think that it is possible that you have the same bug as me but after the battles so try to do them in automatic if you can even if it is quite painful as a bug ...

My best guesses based on your very basic discription is insufficient space or bad cells/sectors on SSD/HDD,re-installing RTW2 might fix that, system overheating is also a possiblity mind you.

i would advise you to scan the SSD/HDD/partition where Steam/RTW2 is installed.
:CMD(admin)-->CHKDSK /F /R /B

And if the OS is installed on the same SSD/HDD/partition i would advise you to check if windows system files are not damaged or corrupted :CMD(admin)-->SFC /VERIFYONLY(this switch will only scan and report) or /SCANNOW(this switch will scan/report and fix if possible)

You might also want to try changing certain settings for RTW2 such as reduce unit size and turn off v-sync,sometimes this can fix certain crashes.

Regards,

A crash when loading a battle map is not the same as a crash when unloading a battle map,and it's extremely unlikely they're caused by the same problem.

Your example of crashing on loading a battle map is fairly common, you didn't post your system specs but i'm assuming your running on a modern multi-core cpu, have a look here:

Regards,
there was a basic description because none of the things you theorize were happening, were happening. i fixed it. it was a single file that needed deleted. that's it.

I like to cover all bases, and i'm very invasive/pervasive and somewhat overzealous at times.....sorry:steammocking:

hard disk errors and windows corruption is not the first place to look
don't go for the complicated solutions first :cta_emo6:

the simple answer is there are many reasons it could happen
as u can see here

https://support.sega.com/hc/en-gb/articles/4407164255377-My-Total-War-game-on-STEAM-does-not-launch-and-or-crashes

first start with base install no other software in use on pc, no mods, no overlays , verify game then try :steamthis: link IF its still not working and don't overthink it right from start.

You need to follow a process of elimination, starting from as clean a base reference point as posible (minimal config its called in IT).
A process that narrows down the possibilities is what u need to do

Happy you fixed your problem, without saying exactly what what your particular fix was (ie deleted a file, pretty vague) :cta_emo6:

But your not only one that reads these looking for help, with "crashes my game" issues, which as I said can have many causes. I have provided some good advice to help those ppl.

Totally uncalled for,he wasn't really responding to you but to me jumping the gun wich you both already pointed out and providing some generic troubleshooting tips, shall i just apologize a thousand times on both our behalves?.

And what's with the snarky responses for simply trying to render assistance albeit somewhat misplaced?,all the while ignoring a simple question from someone else who seems genuinely interested in your solution....i find this to be suspect and highly impolite to be honest.

Sir, I had little hopes on Monday last but to have supped in your cabin: but it pleased God to order it otherwise. I am thankful for it. As for those cowardly captains who deserted you, hang them up, for by God they deserve it. Yours, Du Casse.
