Also the closes unit to that is the Elite Persian archers.
The Immortals died with the fall of the Persian Empire though so they didn't exist during the time frame of Rome 2. Again as others have said a cavalry unit named the Immortals were created by the Sassanids in days of the Late Roman Empire but that would be a couple hundred years AFTER Rome 2.
Heavy enough in my opinion. And they're from the only fully "eastern" faction: Parthia.
As a poster earlier stated Elite Parthian Archers are a nice comparison too, but I find their lack of armour and melee defense to be saddening. They make good flanking troops in a pinch and can fight low tier units.
So it's your pick: No bow but decent melee stats
Or bow and alright damage but very low armour and melee defense stats
