WWII is a 'modern' war and wouldn't really be compatible with TW. Modern warfare is more a group of small scale skirmishes adding up to a larger battle not the large scale field battles that lends itself to the game.
Not necessarily man Battle of the Bulge? Invasion of Normandy? Blitzkreig from the germans to Poland and France. Battle for Moscow. Um i could go on
What's your point? Anything beyond the Spanish-American and Franco-Prussian Wars aren't battles where two armies meet each other and fight. It's an entire theater fighting at the same time across a 1,000 mile long front constantly moving.

Arbitrarily listing random battles doesn't help any point you seem to have at all.
well, they could make a Total War: World War 2 game, Creative Assembly would just simply rewrite history completly. belive it or not, Total War has always rewrited history. how? did Sparta conquer Rome? no, but you can in Total War: Rome 2 and Rome: Total War.

but even if they did completly do the same thing like they've done to every Total War games, it just wouldn't feel like a Total War game.

but to be honest, i wouldn't mind a World War 2 game made by Creative Assembly, they'd just need to make sure it doesn't fly the Total War banner.

Wouldn't work simply because you can't have the large set piece battles that is total wars bread and butter if you want rts ww2 era go play company of heroes or something like that

What? Are you kidding? ALL Total War games are based on history and they all start at historical dates. You decide what to do. CA did nothing to rewrite history.

Thats true they give you the setting and say go nuts
...and as ^ said, why don't you just play CoH2 or Men of War? I hate when people feel the need to give an already overdone genre every single level of gaming.
No, I just don't really like that kind of war. Also it would probably require a massive overhaul of how the game plays.

And there's already too much games around WW2 (even more so than Ancient/Medieval). Maybe WW1 would be a change, it's the biggest (or worse rather) of the two wars in term of pure soldier conflicts. And it's also underrepresented for some reason. But I still wouldn't like it.

I personally would enjoy something in Asia or during the Dark Ages. Or if they can pull it off a very good Medieval 3.

with Asia its hard to set a time period where it isn't going to be same units just different colours
Lol, that's what I said and everybody pissed their pants :P

that's understandable.

World War 2 is not a genre, Strategy is a genre, and what Creative Assembly knows best is the Strategy genre and Real-time tactics. but if it's just a game that takes place in World War 2 and people are asking for it and you're getting annoied by it, then fine.

at least you can be happy about that the chance of Total War: World War ever being made by Creative Assembly is almost nonexistent.

someone on the Forum came up with Total War: Dynasty. i don't know much about Asia and it's history, but Total War: Dynasty sounds interesting.
