People Are Now Complaining About PIKES Being Overpowered...
Is there no way of pleasing you people? Or are you just so bad at the game that you cry and whine when you don't win because you suck so bad? Seriously, that's the only logic behind your arguments for the majority of complaints that I'm hearing about unit balancing in the game right now.

-Elephants and Chariots have had their masses reduced, lowering their charge effectiveness
-Unit price changes all-around to allow more versatile builds and less OP Elite-spam occurring
-Buffs all-around for the Germanic and Briton factions
-Reduced Pike Damage while widening their area of engagement
-Improved Formation Attack

These are all GOOD balancing tweaks, addressing EXACTLY what the community has been complaining about, making the game far more fair than it was, and now people are complaining even MORE, and about PIKES? Pikes, at this point, are one of the more balanced unit types in the game (which used to be borderline useless), so it boggles my mind how they are seen as "OP".

you do realize that you don't need to go outside in order to know about history?
it helps some things we know we know because living history reenactors have had to replacate and rediscover certain things

Armchair historian? As opposed to what? A kid who plays around with modern bits of wood and tries to make a comparison to the kind that the Romans used? You're merely a step above a larper.
hahahahahaha .
living history isnt larp.
LOL, "living history". No you're not. You just drive to some slightly forested area in your hybrid, with a bunch of other drunk geeks, you put on some modern-day, cheap chainmail you bought online from some retailer, using shoddy little spears and corregated wooden shields, and pretend your "roman soldiers". It's laughable.

How about you burn down your house, destroy your car, your credit cards, throw away all your money, pay a blacksmith to forge your equipment in metallic coins, use a sponge on a stick for toilet paper, sleep in a tent for 3 months at a time, and then maybe succumb to disease or illness in the winter.

Lol, your argument is idiotic, bolstered with childish logic. It's as if a 12 year old who plays airsoft stated he were "living like a soldier".

No, you haven't. You're simply using modern day knowledge to solve old-age problems. There is absolutely no equivalent. And if you DO believe so, then please, tell me, how have you solved the "greek fire" problem? I'd love to hear about it.

"it helps some things we know we know because living history reenactors have had to replacate and rediscover certain things"

And how is this relevant to his point? All you did was insult him and ignore his argument.
Again you can know stuff without actually repeating it.

Lol, I can tell you're either an idiot or a kid because of this comment right here:
"do u even go outside?"

Don't try and hide it, it only makes you look more pathetic.

Calling someone as armchair historian is a insult as far as I know. I might be wrong though

No, you really couldn't. Using logical fallacies like that doesn't make you look any more mature. And saying that you're "re-living history" certainly doesn't either. Because you're not. You're just going out in the woods in cosplay.

first off it isnt and secondly his remarks
Lol, congratulations, someone threw a pilum around 14 to 15 feet and barely hit a shield, doing exactly nothing. Is that your proof? Show them throwing it twice that distance, while the targets moving around around 15-17 mph, penetrating the shield, and maybe you'll have a point, otherwise, it's laughable.<---if i cared enough i would take that as an insult
