Anyway, a guaranteed fix would be to install the game on a SSD which pretty much eliminates loading times but that's a far from perfect solution
Installed it a couple times. Always been a problem.
Wait wait wait. You have your game installed on an EXTERNAL hard disc, and now you don't understand why it's taking so long to load? Wow.
I've heard of selective reading but that's mighty impressive.
Anyways, yes I was reading on the Shogun forums that the loading times were an issue, and the only solution was a SSD. But this is the only game I have a problem with so spending more cash to solve it would be counter-productive at the moment. The game itself runs fine short of the loading issue.
Move it to your internal HD at the very least, even if you don't get a SSD.
I only brought up the fact that I also put it on an external HD to illustrate that I am trying everything in an attempt to solve this issue.
That said, there really wasn't a noticeable difference in loading times between the External and the Internal HD, for those of you trying to find solutions to this problem.
What are the specs of your external disk and how is it connected?
