What ever the onager hits, it kills.
If an army bottle necks the onager will get crazy amount of kills, explosive ballista shots however look good but seem to bounce infantry around.
+1
I only use normal shots, much more accuracy.
On the field (without bottle necks) just aim at "blobs" of infantry for maximum carnage :-)
Had 3x ballistas break a villiage and a large army while using explosive rounds as they were bottlenecking.
Had large onagers rack up 700+ kills because armies and all the extras coming on to the battlefield were bottlenecking.
Scorpions can get 70+ kills.
Small Onagers are great for plague rounds to support a defensive army.
Field artillery is ok, but limited.
Yeah these ancient artillery peices put modern howitzers to shame really.
and which do you personally prefer?
please and thanks!
thanks, should i always use explosive shot tho vs infantry with ballita, or is normal shot better for killing infantry? and does flaming shot work against normal city walls? or just towers and gates?
I haven't done this quite enough to really get a handle on it but flaming shot is best for artillery duels? It is what I go with vs. city walls.
No offence but, jesus christ dude :-/ why don't you just try some custom games with ballista or Onager :-) With normal- or explosive munition, I think that would solve your questions ;-)
