confirmed by who and when? even if it is, the chance it will actually come is 0.1%. besides, how is linux games not selling not relavant to this? who in their right mind is going to adapt a game (at great expense if done properly) when they know it's not going to sell?
also if you can run it, why do you need it to be ported again? you are a special kind off stupid i must say.
The selling of Linux games is a different subject from the question I asked. All I wanted to know is if the Linux port of this individual game will be released next month. Saying "Linux games don't sell" does nothing to answer that question.
A decent Linux port may cost around $15,000 to $50,000 and take around a month or two. Now that's if a developer does a Wine port. To get the game to run natively on Linux would be a different price, but that can vary greatly depending on the game, so there aren't really reliable estimates for that. There is estimated to be over a million Linux users on steam. Even if only 1% of them buy a $60 game that means hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue, which I would say is well worth the expense I listed above. And if a developer makes a Wine Mac port (which I think everyone can agree is a worthy financial investment) then that can be modified to make a Linux port for even less time and money. Additionally, once SteamOS is officially released it will become easier to port games natively to Linux.
Currently I can run the game through Wine and it is playable, but I never said it was perfect. There are some graphical and performance issues, including glitches, and there are occasional crashes. A professionally done port, even if was done with wine, would eliminate most of these issues.
Perhaps you should inform yourself and avoid making assumptions before stating your opinions and calling other people stupid. Anyway, it doesn't seem like this thread is going anywhere so I guess I'll just move on with my life and wait for the Linux port.

And Linux games do sell. Well enough to keep the companies that port games like Feral Interactive, Aspyr Media and Virtual Programming open. Hopefully once steamOS hits the mockers will change their tune.
Also, Total War Rome II is already ported to Mac, meaning a lot of the work for a Linux version is already done since there are a lot of similarities and nearly identical parts in the underlying system between Mac and Linux both being a Unix System and requiring OpenGL etc. True the two systems arent identical and will have some big differences, but they are close enough to mean a fair chunk of the work has already been done. Meaning it's probably not going to be as expensive as some might think to port to Linux, since the dearest part was porting to mac and a lot of that work can be bought over to the Linux version.
Total War Attila, also confirmed to be coming to Linux so.. Linux games obviously sell since CA are starting to put in some time and effort into porting another total war game, and Empire has already been ported to Mac and Linux. Everyone entitled to their opinion, but I thought these posts were a little misinformed and just here to hate on an OS they don't like... bit like the Mac vs Windows fan boys..it's so stupid, who cares what OS someone decides to use and who cares if they ask for support? Espeically when they only ask for an update on a game that has been confirmed to come to that system. Nobody cares which OS this person or that person thinks is best. I agree each OS has it's own strength and weaknesses and one may be better for a certain task than another but again..who cares, let people use what they want.
Anyway, on topic! I did think they would have released this and other games labelled "coming to SteamOS/Linux 2015." by today (10th November 2015) I guess I was wrong, I wouldnt be surprised if it was sometime this month or December though. We'll have to be patient and wait since some of these companies aren't really giving much feedback when users ask... It is annoying since they originally stated an early 2014 release for Rome II...and pushed that back to where we are now....urgh.
Would be great to play this on Linux
