Why are there no Slavic-tribes in this game ?
I mean, they could have at least involved one Slavic-Tribe.

Archeology.
Proves people were there. Who were they? What were they called? What was their language? What did they do?

Archeology can only go so far...

Archeology can only go so far, it cannot prove that peolpe "existed" in a certain place... trade has existed and has really messed up these things... eg chinise coins being found in dark age wessex...

jsut because certain "slavic" objects have been found in eastern europe does not mean they were "created" there... much less prove that slavic people lived there :)....

but who know? i havnt studied eastern europe :)...
The only 'slavs' you speak of are proto slavs living where in-game map shows sarmatia

I'm still waiting for an Eskimo tribe. :)

At best, perhaps there were proto-Slavs, or there were ancestors of them (e.g. Sarmatians), but certainly no true Slavs at this time.

There's no writing about them at this point, and so how are we going to have playable Slavic factions if for starters we don't even know their names?

As someone said, archeology can only go so far. How is CA supposed to recreate their armies with absolutely no documention on them to give any ideas? Same goes for their buildings, tech trees, and starting conditions. Archeology alone can't provide for all of that.

It would involve too much guess work and leave so much to the imagination when creating your proposed factions so as to render such a possibility more in the realm of fantasy than historical accuracy/authenticity.

Also don't want any shoehorned and unnecessary factions that feel out of place. There's still some room left for CA (if they had not stopped updating Rome 2) if they wish to add anymore playable factions: there's still the largely unscathed North African tribes as well as many kingdoms in the Near East for instance, plus some Germanic and Britton tribes could use some more love.

That being said, I would still like some playable proto-Slavic/Slavic factions in Attila. There's rumors suggesting that.

There were proto-Balto-Slavic peoples in the Ukraine, Baltic, and Russian regions during Rome II's timeline. They had primitive societies, were scarcely populated, and made little contact with Rome or the Roman peoples because they had the Sarmatians to the south of the Russian region and the German peoples to the west of the Russian region: neither the Sarmatians nor Germans were ever conquered by Rome, and so contact with proto-Balto-Slavic peoples was minimal.

They had dealings with the Sarmatians the Finno-Ugric peoples in Finland at most: they weren't developed or advanced civilizations by any means, even compared to the Germanic and Celtic peoples in Western Europe during the same period.

To be fair, there are some rumors that the Balto-Slavic peoples were fierce warriors and constantly enslaved and tormented the Sarmatians and Scythians on the steppes, and there was supposedly a lucratice slave trade business on the border of Sarmatia and the Russian region. However, as I have said, the regions of Russia and Ukraine were far-too sparsely populated to have any major impact on history or civilization until at least after the death of Christ (0 BCE).

This "why no Slavic" is merely are new rise Pan-Slavism and Russian Nationalism combined with need to rewrite history.

Historically there were no Slavic tribes in Roman times, Slavic tribes appeared several hundred years later. That is the thing we who know history know.

XD. No Slavs in Roman times??? Dude, the Romans were the first who wrote history about Slavs: Venedae, Antae and Sclaveni, they were foederati of the Romans and lived on Roman territory! Especially the Venedians near Vistula were known already in first century b.c. and could not been classified as pure Germanic nor Sarmatian, their culture archaelogically fits in a continuum till the historically later documented early Slavs from that area 600 years later.

Proto-Slavs lived roughly in the area of Rome II's Gutones/Budini. There's no scholarly consensus about their cultural affiliations right now. The Budini have been hypothesised to had been Balto-Slavs/Proto-Slavs, but archaeologically they're somewhat obscure. The Gutones were almost certainly proto-Goths. Slavs, it they existed back then, are very likely to had been part of the said peoples' domains. That doesn't make much of a Total War faction.

The map is supposed to represent the limits of the Roman empire at its peak. That said there are quite a few historical inaccuracys in the game. By the Year the game starts Sparta had no war potential, yet you can play as them.

I feel sparta was purely implemented as a 300 rise of an empire tie in pretty sure around this time sparta was a part of a league I cant remember the name

Though the thing is total war is mostly an alternate history type game you can bring a nation back from the brink and do what ever you want you shape history to your liking

in atilla you can restore the roman empire to it's height in rome 2 you can win the punic wars as carthage

etc
