Etruscan Leauge Survives
In all my games the Etruscan league gets pwned by Rome. However, in a game I played as Macedon, Rome beat the Etruscan league but then got smashed by the Nervii. After the Nervii, Latin Rebels rose up and re-established the Etruscan league! Has anyone else had the Etruscan League survive or come back?

Never seen that before, it's usually an early exit for the "Crustacean" League.
Huh, thanks for commenting. Have you ever had the Nervii or another germanic tribe take Rome?

In my current Carthage campaign the Etruscan league aided me in destroying Rome early on. By the time the romans lost their last settlement the etruscans held territories in Italia, Illyria, and their original island. I had to doublecross them to achieve one of the land objectives and by that time they were as developed as I was and I had several full stack armies to deal with.

One time when I was playing Egypt, Etruscans rekt Rome.

Impressive, did you completely destroy the Etruscan Leauge?

Did Carthage help?
If Rome got sacked by a barbarian army, can you tell me which nation it was?

I had the Nervii sack Rome.

Yes I did. Since we had a defensive alliance I targetted a common enemy of ours. While their glorious armies marched through my Italian lands amid cheering throngs of punic peasants to catch boatrides to eastern Greece, I took their local cities without incident. As their armies returned I dispatched them first with poison and murder, followed by the spearpoint.

For some reason, Etruscans always survive in my games. They usually keep Corsica or Sardinia, and move Northeast from there. They practically replaced Carthage in one game.

They have a pretty short life in my games.

I remember one time I was playing as Rome, I took out the league and made peace with Carthage early on. Carthage then smushed Syracuse and reinstated the Etruscans, who remained friendly for the rest of the game. I think that's the only time I've seen the Etruscans after turn 15... they tend to get smushed even if I'm not directly involved

Wow that was some really cool writing. How long did it take you to complete it?

In my game the new Etruscan League was friendly with the old Roman Empire.

I tried starting a new game and made peace with the Etruscans after kicking them out of Italy (oddly enough, something I've never done before). They wouldn't accept a client state offer, but they took peace without a problem. They survived for about 40 turns but never tried to expand. Then they declared war on me, so I finished them off.

Are they scripted to not really do anything? They are kinda the 'tutorial' enemy for Rome after all.
