Will we ever get Total War Rome 3?
What's the likelihood of Rome 3 ever being released? It's a beloved time period by the community but gets put on the back burner based on all other titles yet to be released.

Rome 3 on release would most likely be less optimized than Rome 2 is now.

Do you want a Rome 3? You can wait a long time. BUT I can give you a tip. Go to this video on YT ( The Pyrrhic War - ROME 2 Total War ~ Let's Play ROMA [Divide Et Impera] #1 ) and install ALL mods as described. I guarantee you that this will give you a TW:R3.
I play this with 40 Units and it is epic!

Highly unlikely in the foreseable future.

People already have been waiting almost 20 years(!) for the next installment of medieval. Logically IF CA is planning doing anything regarding a new historiccal title, it could be medieval.

This year a couple or rumours have been flying around regarding TW new flag ship titles:
WH 40K & Star Wars.

But it is probably better to keep your CA expectations LOW.

Rome 2 has the best performance of all TW games on my PC, and compare to other games it is well optimized too. So i dont understand your question.
The only thing is the smoke effects that is still bad, but all TW games suffers from that. I dont know how is smoke in Three kingdoms and Warhammer etc... newer games, but i played all TW except those and smoke was allways performance killer in sieges, thats why i use low smoke in settings.

I suppose the closest thing will ever get to Rome 3 is what we have with Mods. DEI being a notable one. And to that point I guess I am content with that, being I have at least 800 hours logged in Rome 2 and have only played with DEI on/ never have touched vanilla lol. But I cant help but feel that there are only so much mods can do, leaving the desire of more for me. Adding game features/ more detail design etc.

Start with Normal difficulty should be fine.

Rome total war 3 would be exciting, as a new leaderboard to dominate. however rome 2 holds up for now. we've all been waiting for medieval 3 for what over 18 years. medieval 3, rome 3 and shogun 3 would be good to revive the historical side of total war, but if we keep having players play like warhammer it would be easy to dominate the leaderboards ha. historical armies not good broken up cuz flanking lol. havent played dei but i hear nothing but good about it.

DEI is amazing. I don't think I would have played 800 hours+ without it. It might take a little bit to get used to the pace (slower) but it's worth learning. Sprinkle some sub mods and your as close to Rome 3 as you can get in my opinion.
