Why is there no Multiplayer Chat?

and, no, please no schizoposting about the "eu law" or whatever. plenty of british games still have chat.

im pretty sure the total war community is basically battered wives at this point.. there should have been serious outrage about the chat being taken away. what an embarassment.

Free speech is too dangerous for them. Therefore, they banned all speech. I chose to stop giving them money. That is all I can do about these outrages. That is why I am here on this forum. I'm looking for reasons to play the old games.

If you dont think its because of EU law, then the only logical reason would be to slowly kill off the player bases of the old titles in an attempt to force players to buy the new games.

Whether this is actually whats happening, i have no idea. But, I definitely wont be buying any more CA titles for sure until Rome 3. Despite the chat removal, this game still has one of the best MP battle experiences of any total war and the player base is still big enough. CA will have to try harder than that

"plenty of british games have chat" 1. they haven't decided to remove their chat yet or 2. they are a new game that can afford to moderate the chats, truth is its purely because ca is based in the uk and the uk passed a horrible law about chat moderation in games that forces ca to spend money to moderate chats which they are too lazy and too greedy to do.

Yeah people still got discord i guess, which sucks because i hate having to use discord to play a game, chat was fine and always good never seen any thing bad in chat.

He isn't talking about the law of free speech he is talking about it as a concept, they refute that concept and favour censoring and banning people who say things they don't like, no need to be such a bootlicking shill of companies who love to censor people they find "problematic" sure they aren't REQUIRED by law but as a company with any sense or care for its users and customers you should let them have free speech in your chats or else get the criticism that comes with not doing that.

who knows exact reasons, but they obviously had them, or whats point of removing a feature and pissing ppl off, which obviously they knew would happen. Prob a directive from the parent corp SEGA, for political, economic, legal reasons, what does it matter why its done.

game was made 10 years ago, politics, internet, chat etc has evolved a lot since then. Clearly it was easier to remove it than update it.

So whining on here is going to have less effect than complaining directly to CA to give a replacement they keep talking about but not yet delivering. Make a good case without the attitude will prob go a lot further.

option 3: never buy anything CA makes and spread as much toxicity and anti-CA hate as possible on the internet. it's what we should all be doing. all the youtubers who got their start on historical total war should be getting shamed non-stop. it takes like 30 seconds to make a venomous comment somewhere, voicing your displeasure. if everyone did that once a day, it would help put the pressure on CA.

again, the fact that this isn't already happening just shows that the historical tw fanbase have become like battered wives.
