No chat in Rome 2 total war

Hi everyone. By now i am sure you all know that the chat feature has been disabled from the makers of the game. There is a new law in the UK that looks to curb whats said to children but anyone under 16 should not be playing this game. Its a real shame they did this as it is the end of Rome 2 multiplayer. I really hope they can find a work around or a fix to this. The game is dead if it continues and would be a bummer if thats the case.

If that was the case wouldn't they have removed chat in all creative assembly games? Napoleon still has chat, Attila ect. I don't think this has anything to do with the laws in the UK or else they would have stated so.

According to the patch notes, the intention is to remove the chat from all old total war games eventually

The actual reason is the chat tacked on to the Warscape Game Engine which is used cannot be secured under the latest security formats.

By the way, to disable chat in game by region is only a toggled word disabling that range of IP addresses. Notable example, driving along and cross into Montana while using Tik Tok and it loses connection and stops responding due to ip block by localization.

Without even loading up to LOOK, I can already tell you the date on the exe file changed. THAT is where the new security authorization is embedded. Dig a little deeper, and the language files will also be updated from removing the chat hooks so they cannot be reactivated third party.

Another change which has already been happening if you have not noticed, pfm and rpfm made mods are both being dropped in full or dropped and only partially loading due to missing key security which must be added by Assembly Kit.

The only current mods I have up public hosted in Workshop are Warhammer 2 which were originally created with pfm. They have long since been reopened in Assembly Kit, had a small change made, and then saved to pick up the required security. Some will be that easy and some will have to be remade.

They have pretty much killed this game's multiplayer lobbies it's multiplayer was quite fun and the only thing that really kept me playing

They all had chat removed. All UK based companies had their chat removed with the new law that came out. Read the law. They just decided to not say anything.

Please stop trying to drum up political rancor and go read the actual CA/SEGA release statement about the removal of chat and the attempts to find a replacement which will work properly under the new computer environments initiated by Intel with the release of Gen 12 technology.

CA removed the chat due to UK law. Simple as that. I dont really care for the chat. Since all MP games i do. Are on discord in my gaming clan. Maybe because you dont have friends you need the chat to find games. Who knows. In that case. I feel for you.
