Game wont launch. Missing executable after patch. Get it together guys!

mine game is broken as wel. whit or whitout mods it crashes right before lunch. where can we complain?

The game is playable if you just go into the game files and execute the Rome2.exe program. It doesn't seem to connect to Steam though that way, no Steam overlay, no achievements, etc.

Crashes on launch here... wanted to see the performance update too, and my sparta faction seems to have gone walkies too

No problems here, works like a charm. Playing on Ultra, it rarely dips below 80 fps.

I bloody hope they don't do this with Attila next I be so pissed off as I been making a submod for anno domini mod overhaul and need game to launch so can test new units I done out or fix errors of there is any

I've still got nothing too, tried setting the game to run as admin too. It tries to update and fails. It won't even update because of the missing launcher.exe. if I go to the folder and click on the actual Rome2.EXE the game works, but then I don't get any culture packs or addons, since I deleted and reinstalled everything including steam.

Just revert back to the previous version

I have got the same problem.
After several tries, I can enter the game again.
Below is what I did:

1) go to Rome2 page in steam, click properties
2) choose the tab beta and choose patch 19, steam will start revert back to previous version
3) wait until update complete
4) go to Rome 2 game folder, copy the folder "launcher" and backup it somewhere
5) go back to Rome2 page in steam => properties => beta again and choose the patch "none", steam will start update to latest version again
6) wait until update complete, copy the backuped folder "launcher" back to Rome2 game folder
7) start the game again and enjoy
