Would you like Caesar vs Pompey civil war?
In a perfect virtual world, would you like an expansion that covered Caesar's pursuit of Pompey and his allies. The campaigns in Italia after he crossed the Rubicon, Hispania, Africa, IIyria, Greece, Egypt. Historic battles could include Dyrrachium and the decisive battle of Pharsalus. Also what are your dream ancient campaigns and battles?

That would be an awesome expansion. Control Caesar and you've got the plebs support, lots of cash left behind and battle hardened armies. As Pompey you've got cheap levies, Senate support ,mercenary units, the control of the seas and influence on allies. Mr. Julius has the muscle and Magnus the experience.

I'd prefer it just as a few historical battles for that imo, well, Pharsalus is actually a historical battle in the game except it's hidden away in the files and missing something that needs it to work.

I don't know if you'd actually be able to win Pharsalus as Caesar in this game as Caesar's legions were badly depleted at around half strength of their normal force. Caesar achieved the impossible in that battle as Pompey had full strength legions although raw and a vast horde of cavalry. Caesar's cavalry was tiny in comparison. I don't think it would work as the program would only reflect the numerical superiority as the units involved would have broadly similar stats and abilities.

Not really, I want a campaign that gives us the 300 years of Rome's height and decline. It will give the developers some good ideas about how to keep the game mechanics fun late game if they have to design a campaign about an almost completed Roman Empire. All your civil wars and Germanicus fantasies can also be realised in such a thing!

But you mentioned something about a 'perfect virtual world' and that's not really Total War, so for that I'd probably enjoy a Xenophon's March or Bronze Age Collapse kind of deal.
Sorry, I may have muddied the waters a bit with the "perfect virtual world" . I'm using it at as a figure of speech, not literally. Another way of putting it might be, if it were your choice or if you had a magic wand, what would your perfect/favourite scenario be? Just exploring possibilities, what are peoples ideas and thoughts? If you were CA what would you do? Perfect in the sense that you had total control. Fantasy of course.

Besides what I said above about what should have really been the second half of the Grand Campaign, I'd also like to add that a Macedonia campaign would be rather nifty, mainly based on Philip and Alexander of course. This would probably give us an 'Eastern' type campaign map to work with too.
