I am talking about campaign.
What? Their infantry is unstoppable, only pikes are a problem for them, and they have too many solutions to pikes for that to matter anyway.
You can obliterate everybody as Armenia, I've taken rome, egypt and bactria in the same campaign. No that means anything, it;s not like the game is hard.
But it depends on how you play the Factions, Rome is by far the most Powerful, but they lack Good Skirmishers, and Cavalry, which they must get in Auxillary recruitments(They also don't have Factional Mercenaries).
Old Patch Egypt can be very fun, due to having 2 Grain Settlement, which mean you can literally play as egypt without making any farms, they're however too versatile, they have any unit you want, but they're not really super good at what they do.
Syracusae can also be a powerhouse, depending on the players, attacking Rome and allying with Carthage could be a better choice, since in the early game, Rome Southern army isn't really that strong, and Carthage is already weak due to wars in spain, africa, and their bad start.
Baktria has the best defense thanks to their corner starting location, plus their Cavalry is considered one of the best.
Parthia lol, tooth and claw for every inch of ground, playing DEI even more so.
They have the most versatile army composition, very early on in the game. You start with pathetically weak neighbors all around you, a ridiculous economy from the start of the game that simply feels like cheating by turn 20. Your "scary" rivals at the start of the game are withering under an overwhelming number of enemies and wars while you are ascending to a new plane with maximum doomstacks whilst keeping a 10k+ per turn economy. Taking the rest of the east is childsplay as you blietzkrieg through your enemies "armies" that consist of 1.5 stacks of levees and a horse here or there.
It's by far the best faction in a players hands. It takes me longer to ascend with Rome, which is easily the second best.
