The issue is one created by Apple, because it's 32bit software and thanks to Apple non-64bit software is no longer supported by Macs.
So apart from no longer selling Rome 2 and other 32bit Total War games as Mac titles, there's nothing else CA realistically can do. The change isn't at their end, it's Apple that's at fault here.
You could try looking into running a copy of Windows on your Mac, as I believe that's what some people have done.
I know, it sucks. But it's an OS issue, not a game one.
All the Best,
Welsh Dragon.
You get what they allow you to have.
Apple has not really given you options here. Ether invest in a PC or complain to apple really nicely or persistently with many of like minded people then cross your fingers and hope for the best.
Imagine play Total War Rome iOS on a PC ?
Why do older games like Napoleon or Medieval 2 work?
Especially if the macOS no longer supports 32-bit and only 64?
Rome II and Attila were ported by CA, The other older games were ported and updated by Feral Interactive that do just that for the Linux and MacOS.
For an unknown reason, SEGA-CA decided to not support any longer the Linux MacOS platforms.
