I found TW Rome II with the added campaigns in addition to overall mods a solid package to be entertained for some time.
Other older games that come to mind is Caesar III, Praetorians that now has a HD release on STEAM, Age Of Empires: The Rise Of Rome, Nemesis of the Roman Empire and more recent Imperator Rome
Did you say Age Of Empires: The Rise Of Rome? Nope, I've definitely missed that one!
Hannibal
Field of Glory 2
Imperator Rome is also another one to take into account, quite similar to Field of Glory: Empires, I wonder which one is a better choice for someone interested mainly in Rome.
Finally, I played Rome 1 Total War but I am afraid if it runs well on modern computers as is dated as 2004. I see Steam has a version of Rome 1, how good is the performance? I read very positive reviews about Roma Surrectum mod which would be the reason to get Rome 1.
Instead of Caesar III, I spent my early years on Imperium Romanum, a really fun city building and managing game. It has individual scenarios and campaign modes, where you have to raise a number of cities. Some levels are about exploiting riches of the lands and making use of trade, others are combat heavy where the objective is to stay alive or destroy barbarian settlements in the area. It's a really fun game, I loved it to death. Except that one level where the objective was to raise a city in a time limit, that one was hard as ♥♥♥♥.
Domina is a really nice pixel game where you manage a ludus. The ending is especially interesting, really recommended game.
Rome and Rome 2 from the Total War series obviously. I see the mandatory "hurr durr dei good vanilla bad durr" guy has already been here.
Imperator: Rome I have not played yet, but if Paradox is going to be consistent with their history, rich people will have an amazing grand strategy game on their hands in a couple of years. The rest of us poor peasants can hope for some 90% sales.
A legionary's life also seems to be a fun game for a playthrough.

Does anyone know anythng else about it or about other games developed by Emperor Games?
I can reccomend "Fields of Glory" , but it is kind of hardcore turn-based strategy

I do not know other games, which are worth to play
With the Age od Empires I DE, I do not reccomend it, it has nice graphics and improved UI to original, but broken pathfinding and AI
That looks so shady, it is unknown company, practically no information about game, just few nice pictures,
I am sceptical with that
