Parthians: An interesting challenge if you're not used to horse archers.
Britania: Because sometimes you've just got to say "screw history" and invade Egypt with a horde of celtic barbarians.
Odrysian kingdom are fun too with their thracian nobles (very high attack, weapon damage and charge bonus but very low melee defence)
Palmyra in Empire divided ( difficult starting postion surrounded by enemies) with a varied unit roster as well.
Veneti (rise of the republic) with very good cavalry against enemies with very little cavalry
massilia mix between barbarian and greek units plus nice starting location
Marcomanni for their high ambush chance.
Anyway, every campaign, even with the same faction, can (and is used to) be totally different than other played previously.
You start with 2 whole provinces, surrounded by pansy factions who rely on horse archers (which your slingers vaporise in seconds).
You even start with access to levy pikemen, and those can take you to late mid-game easily.
I like archers in general, so Kush is ok, as is Armenia. Gallic Hunters are my favorite(being invisible AND they can be stuck way out in front, hammering away until they're finally seen); so any faction that starts in or around Gaul I like.
