DEI or Para Bellum
I have tried both of these mods, i am genuinely trying to settle with one. They both seem to chunk FPS more than vanilla or radious, any reason for that or a way to fix that? Also, what difficulty would you use for Para bellum?

DEI has the larger amount of in depth detail and is more polished than PB. The only downside to DEI being that the AI is unbalanced and has too many buffs but Kam from the DEI team said he is working on a sub mod to change that - maybe resurrecting the old softcore sub mod.

I'm currently playing (and enjoying) Para Bellum at the moment but there are issues with public order and money which I can't work out the reason for - probably a bug or something. The UI is also clunky and unintuitive because in order to change a general/admiral's retinue, you have to go to the character/family screen whereas on DEI you can do it on the campaign map by clicking on the character.

A good analogy would be that DEI is gourmet cuisine and Para Bellum is fish and chips. Both satisfying but in different ways.

I downloaded it at the same time as Para Bellum but haven't tried it yet, will have to once I finish my current campaign on PB.

I've been looking at mods recently for all of my Total War games, to freshen things up. You might say I've put a few hours in. I'm getting on a bit so downloading mods is an issue for me via the Internet. Really pleased to see the Re mastered Rome coming out, I see a few more hours in that coming up. So I looked at mods for Rome 2. Not looked at Para Bellum but I have looked at DEI and Wars Of The Gods on You tube, watched game play and listened to peoples thoughts on both. For me personally I think I will go with WOTG. Try that first see how I go. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of the modders out there, across all of the TW titles. You have done some brilliant work and I very much appreciate it. Darth, Toon, Wolfman, Champloo to name just a few. Keep up the great work guys.

I love the supply line reform system, it adds an extra dynamic to the game that makes you have to plan ahead and be more cautious.

DEI has far and away the best unit roster for rome 2, population and supply systems add a bit of strategic depth and immersion and i'm fine with the balance changes for AI it makes. but if you're looking for probably the deepest mod experiences in total war i'd look at europa barbarorum 2 and stainless steel (with stainless steel historical improvement submod) both for medieval 2.

DeI is literally one of the greatest mods ever made. It's that good. It's up there with the best of all Total War mods and I've been playing them for at least 15 years pretty hard.

Although Para Bellum does look interesting. Their UI designer, is just one of the best and most talented designers I've ever seen, all the UI he created, the buttons, the icons, the images, the units, the shields, omg, everything looks AMAZING and with such beautiful attention to detail. It's also got pop systems, and a few other standard tropes we expect. I haven't played it very much, but I really do want to give it a try.

That's what I can give you one either of those mods.

Stainless Steel is one of those all time great mods, along with Rome Total Realism, and Europea Bararorum.

I can't comment on Para Bellum, but DEI is certainly very impressive.
Giannhs 2021 年 3 月 29 日 下午 12:42
Para Bellum for me.

DEI is a mod i try to get into but cant stand it, the AI cheats to such a degree that makes you question the rules of the game, Battles are also stupid cause the mod is balanced around Ultra unit size(which has bigger units then the regular game) which makes the game a lagfest on huge 40vs40 battles(and even worse if they are in cities).

Para Bellum doesnt do such extreme changes and is a more stable experience.
