Workshop mods legacy files
I am familiar with opening and editing .pack files using PFM but since a few updates ago some RTW2 workshop mods download as legacy files e.g. 951835540856679312_legacy.bin
Does anyone know how to open them for viewing or even editing? It's a real pain being in that format.

Ok not to worry. It seems that if you unsubscribe using the Steam webpage (not the RTW2 Mod Manager it seems to put a .pack file copy in the RTW2 data folder which the RTW2 Mod Manager seems to ignore and not load. Renaming it makes it active. Talk about complicated.

Files are not saved in legacy files, you were just looking in wrong folder. They are saved in same format as they always did, just in dedicated workshop folder.

It will be in one of folders in this location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content

Yea I know about those folders so I'm not so sure about that because that's where I found it.
The folder name is always the same as the Steam file ID. This is the one I am referring to:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=360180271
So: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\214950\360180271

I seem to have several mods downloaded in that format but not all and I'm sure it started doing around the time of the Ancestral patch. Again many are in the usual .pack format. Maybe it only does it for very old mods. Try it yourself and see what you get in that folder.

Anywayz, no worries. I got round it but thanks for your help.
