How do you make Rome stronger?
Rome is too weak. They're supposed to invade Gaul instead of get eaten by minor factions.

I've been searching over 2 days now for a good mod, but I can't find any; they're either outdated or they don't do what they said they'll do.

Also, I don't want a mod like 'Wars of the Gods' with an overhaul because they change everything in the game (also interface and all the AI's become more aggressive and rich, which isn't the point with a minor faction).

All I want is 1 mod that makes Rome (and maybe also other large factions like Carthage) OVERPOWERED. I want to FEAR them.

So: how do you make Rome stronger? :)

The units from this mod Rome AI will recruit and will make a big difference for Rome vs other AI factions:

So in combination with the Aggressive AI mod or more armies mod, you should see Rome dominate her neighbors.

Well, it's a sandbox game so sometimes Rome grows big and sometimes they die early, just like every other faction. :spacemonster:

That said, I think this is the mod you're probably after:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=233589292&searchtext=guaranteed

Haven't used it myself, but it's the one I usually see people talking about.

Hope that helps.

All the Best,

Hey thanks for your time!

1. The mod is active because I picked Rome to see if they really got the money, they got around 90K per turn

2. +25 turns in the game and Rome is getting eaten by minor factions :(

Geez... If you need that kind of a boost maybe Rome isn't the game for you, really.

NOTE: I love Rome II. Totally suck at it and the AI hands me my ass regularly even on normal but the very idea of playing with a mod like the one described above...

Seriously: Why bother? I just don't get why anyone would do that?

If new players are having issues crank the difficulty all the way down to the least difficult there is (that's why there are varying degrees of difficulty). Spend a few games learning the basic mechanics, trying different strategies, fighting battles at the tactical level and learning the plusses and minuses of each unit type. Get comfortable with the game and when one is confident they've learned enough to move on then up the difficulty level. It will take time to do but it will be worth it. Playing with a CHEAT mod renders any successes meaning less.

I think you've misunderstood the question.

Gataarius isn't looking for a mod to make Rome more powerful when they play them.

They're looking for a mod to make Rome more powerful when the AI plays them.

They basically want a dominant Rome to fight against.

I agree that it's better to learn how the game works than mod out difficulty, but that's not what's going on here.

All the Best,

Welsh Dragon.

Exactly, Welsh Dragon.

I want to play AGAINST Rome, but giving them more money doesn't seem to make them expand more.

Ah, that reminds me. Try using this:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1512624896

The AI has a cap on how much it can spend on units each turn, so they may be getting bottlenecked even with the increased money. If so, this may address that.

You might want to take a look at his More Aggressive AI and Very Aggressive AI mods.

I did misunderstand then. My apologies Gataarius...

Play as carthage and see how Rome AI decides to play. They go absolute lunatic mode whenever I do a carthage playthrough.
ToonTotalWar Dec 6, 2020 @ 11:55pm
We do have files in Wars of The Gods that make rome stronger, build an exact empire as it was back in the day! However as OP mentioned he does not want an overhaul to play so sorry we cannot help, if you do decide to try WOTG you will not be disappointed.

My advice find a sub mod that does what you want then come back and try our overhaul when your ready.

I'm using it as well. I'm not sure whether it really works since Rome is suffering against Liguria, Venetii, Etruscan League, Daorsii...Syracuse was being defeated by Gaetuli, Cyrene and Maesasili (or whatever it's spelled) until they joined my confederation (I've got a mod which enables it for every faction). Carthage only holds Sardinia, and Boii (are they a playable faction?) are beating up a Sparta which seemed promising. The only visible Empires are Lusitanii and Gallic Confederation (Arvernii), apart from myself.

The mod is supposed to provide playable factions a bonus against minors, but I'm not seeing it at all, actually, it's the other way round.
Gataarius Dec 8, 2020 @ 4:43am
Update:

I have tried these mods combined:
* No unit upkeep for Rome only
* 50.000 per turn for Rome
* Rome is allowed to spend unlimited on armies
* More aggressive AI
* Guaranteed Major Faction Empires

Result: Rome still got eaten by their minor neighbours.
+ they had two generals walking around without troops in their army. The army consisted of solely the general. Weird..

Now I will try to add this mod:

If that doesn't work, then I will have to try Wars of the Gods overhaul and get used to all the changes:
