I disagree. The changes made by DEI would make the game more boring for me.
Are you new to CA Total War games? Because there's no way you're implying Rome I was more realistic. I have news for you but there were no such thing as Germanic headhurlers or Gaulic screaming women or worse yet Roman Arcani aka Roman ninjas lurking the battlefield.
Nor is being able to turn every city into a megafortress realistic.
Rome II developers at least had the sense to do away with those silly units and ridiculous overpowered mechanics.
Please remove your tongue from the butthole of Total War Center and think for yourself. Just because some modders made mods like Europa Barbarorum and Rome Total Realism does not retroactively imbue Rome I with more realism. It was a cartoony game then as it is now and Rome II is a step up from that.
That said CA has never made "realistic" games, they fudge on the side of gameplay and historical authenticity rather than accuracy, as all successful developers do. If you want simulational realism go buy Imperator. (Have fun playing your spreadsheet!)
