Mod Manager/Launcher Issues
Hi all,

I'm having issues with the mod manager section of the R2TW launcher; basically I can launch the game (vanilla) but as soon as I click on to the mod manager and select anything, whether thats to select/deselect all of the mods or delete them all; anything, it basically freezes and disappears; I assume that's a crash.

I had tried using Mitch's Mod Manager (V3) and I couldn't take to it so wanted to go back to Steam one and not having any luck since.

Any help much appreciated as I'm losing the will to live after uninstalling the game about 5 times, Steam twice and it's going to hell -_-

Resubscribe to the mods, make sure you have "Out of Date Mods" ticked.

Should work fine unless you have a startpos conflict in mods or something

As a last resort reverify cache under steam. No need to uninstall and reinstall, never ever had to do it myself... over years and years...

The "Community" mod manager was abandoned years ago but may still work. I think the creator got offered a job somewhere or something wtfever... It's only purpose is to order the mod load. The CA basic manager does that anyway but there are ocassions where you have to modify the mod file name and change the order of load when executing the game...

The easiest way is to put @@@ before modfile name or a '1'. Steam doesn't recogniose it and won't download it by the way if you are way outside HQ with limited internet...

Trial and practise or knowledge of modding... up to you...

Ok so I've done as you advised already.

I've reverified the cache, and when that didn't work, I uninstalled and reinstalled. I can't delete the mods because as soon as I click anything in the Steam mod manager, the whole thing crashes with no error message.

So I'm at a loss as to what to do tbh

You might need to remove all the mod files and get it to start normally first. You can back them up and just reinsert them after you get the game working if you like or redownload them. (Personally, I'd just redownload them if internet all good, and a few at a time so that you can trace the problem IF Mod related...) << In the workshop itself! Not the launcher

The file location has changed for mods a few months ago it is under Steam Apps/ Workshop or something. Might take a bit of looking because the file names aren't listed in the workshop itself which a real pain...

Edit: DriveDesignation... "\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content"

Also look in the data file for any mods too, they are usually two files of same name and one is an imagefile.

Make sure you unsubscribe from all the mods in the workshop (Favourite them for use later) or it will just redownload them all and seemingly freeze the CA launcher. The game won't launch if it is redownloading or updating mods through the CA launcher/mod manager.

Due to the latest DLC (*Cough*) and updates it might be a good idea to start fresh again anyway.

It is often mod related if you get CTD after hitting the play button in the CA launcher... Or, there is something deeper going on.

Ok so if I load the launcher via Attilla, I notice the Mod Manager button for Rome II is greyed out?
