Well, if you havent played it in a while, we hope you would consider retrying DEI, since the problems you encountered are most likely no longer present. And in regards to the 'resticted paths' that make it unplayable, I am very curiousto know what you are refrencing. The DEI team has always been more than willing to discuss and consider any feedback and suggestions, so feel free to vist us on the TWC forums as we'd love to hear from you!
Yeah, family tree always was something I loved to roleplay in Total War games, especially Europa Barbarorum mod for RTW1 and MTW2, but this implementation in RTW2 is very bad because how unbalanced it is... your noble house is the only true family popping out new members and you have to buy from the others, but since you family end with so many people the price for new politicians go sky high...
About DEI, I don't think it's a issue with the mod. Apart from that family tree problem I have no issue at all in almost 300 turns now. In fact even at the earliest versions of the mod it already was so much better than vanilla that whatever was broken in DEI was even worse in vanilla (remember launch/earliest patches CAI and battle balance? Oh, god...). DEI team already did wizardry in my opinion to make RTW2 fun, but unfortunately there isn't much you can do when the game isn't really mod friendly, have some hardcoded bad features and a couple of engine bugs. If you hadn't played in a while I totally suggest you to try it now, I really like it.
i know its a bit of an exploit but it works
Wait... if I marry her, her husband will be of her noble house, not mine!? If that's how it works it's actually a very good suggestion, thanks, I will try it out!
Yeah, I understood. I just didn't knew I could also marry women from other factions like that. It's really a great tip!
