Why is Rome 1's soundtrack mod so popular?
Considering that I find Rome 2's orchestral score just as increadible? I mean have you listened to this?

And they use actual real instruments and choirs in Rome II instead of that synthesized digital orchestral sound in the first game.

Because I've been listening to the Rome 1 soundtrack for 10 years, and I thoroughly enjoy it.

No idea, I consider every single piece of music in Shogun 2 better. But then I like everything by Jeff van Dyck better than anything made by anyone else CA has used.

Nostalgia plays a huge role.

Dont even say Nostalgia its not such a long time between 2013 and 2005. Jeff van ♥♥♥♥ ost's are filled with a more action and powerful feeling paced sound check these out

the new soundtracks since Empire feels more like a movie soundtrack. I enjoy how Jeffs music slowley builds up to something unlike the newer ones imo. Only one that has stuck out to me is a track from Atillia AoC battle as playing as the Lombards.

Man, Steam censorship is crazy.

I love both, but R1's track just fits R1 better and R2's tracks fits R2 way better.

R1 is fun, arcade-ish and cartoonish, the more extravagant music suits it better. That's what I love about it, it just bring back fun memories.

R2 on the other hand have this imagery of something more serious, darker form of empire building and the choice of music is really good for such a scenario. And this is also why I love R2's track, it makes me feel like a ruler deciding on policies and deployments that can change the fate of the entire world and then I finally decide that the only way to found out about the outcome is to do it.

I'm not saying certain tracks from each game is suitable for certain scenarios across the games, but overall, I prefer their tracks to stick to their own game.

Let R1 be R1 and R2 be R2, they are not each other and neither should we expect them to be each other.

Also the R1 soundtrack mod is just really bad in R2, like certain tracks just randomly plays during battle, unlike in R1, where the marching stage has it's own theme, so on and so forth. The mod however just plays a track randomly and it really spoils it for me.

I don't find the Rome 2 Soundtrack really bad but like Empire there is not a single Track that really keeps in mind. I couldn't name or at least remember a single one while i have that feeling always when i play Shogun II (Onna Bushi), Rome I or both Medieval II games. Atilla has a few memorable songs, especially the menu theme and i really like the Thrones of Britannia Soundtrack.
