Adoption and Baby-Making
How do you grow the number of people in your faction? I married my faction leader straight away but his wife was 45 years old and they haven't had a baby in 50 turns.

I've also tried adopting a character from a faction and thought I had all the prerequisit requirments (2 more authority than zeal, lots of money, a target that isn't a faction leader) but the game keeps saying I don't have any valid targets for the action.

I also never get the option to hire politicans already in my faction despite controling almost half of the senate.

My leader is 55 now, he will drop dead any second. How am I supposed to go on when the only member of my faction bites it?

I thought I quite clearly explained that the game wasn't letting me.

Its in beta maybe its because of that. I didn't try adopting anyone yet.

You're using a turn-per-year mod, right? Disable that, and begin a new campaign.

The turn-per-year mods that work with patch 19, and earlier versions, aren't compatible with the beta, because more variables need to be changed for everything to work correctly. The result is that the faction leaders begin the campaigns unmarried (I think that's true for all), are older, and when married, have older spouses who don't produce children.

In my experiance, most spouses gained from the "seek spous" action come at roughtly the same age as the target. Meaning that when you start with an older unmarried leader, it can be a bit difficult to get things going. Although this is just assuming that older charcater come with a lower fertility rate, which is hard to tell in game since it seems like the rates can be very inconsistent seeming like even very young characters are completely infertile. While in other cases they are producing way more kids than you actually need. (without mods).
