So female generals....
So what the list of all the factions that have access to female generals. So far I've seen the Iceni, Egypt, & Kush all have access to female generals at the start. Not to mention I saw a few non-playable barbarians factions that had a queen and female war chief leading armies.

Also what the deal with political marriages with these females generals. I find it funny that when a general get married to a foreign leader, the female leader can keep leading their armies. So if I attack that army is that like an instant divorce?:steammocking:

As has been said previously: Total War games are historically authentic, not historically accurate - if having female units upsets you that much you can either mod them out or just not play.

Most of the named females are in this blog https://www.totalwar.com/blog/desert-kingdoms-patch-notes

The Ardiaei also starts with a female general/queen at turn one, Queen Teuta. It's the woman on the ship, in the Rome 2 load screen. I'v heard Boudicca also was added, but she might be an easter egg/secret.

I like the new marriage option, i secured an allience with a faction thanks to my queens marriage. But imo, it should give a much bigger bonus than +15 diplomatic points. Thats like having a friend in the other faction, not your husband or wife XD

Not much of a secret if achievement for winning a battle with her isn't even hidden. I would still love to know how to get her.

Secret as in they haven't announced her like the others, so no idea how to get her.

Hm, her timeline would only really fit within the Augustus-Campaign. Maybe she appears at some point if you play them, can't really think of any other way. Weird though she is not mentioned in the patch notes as an important emerging historical queen...

At least I already know what I am gonna listen to when I get my hands on her ... oh wait, that sounds kinda bad...especially on International Women's Day ...

@Voxrox my inner female approves of this song.

As for marriage & divorce mechanics ... it's like "The TW Kardashians" now?

Mea maxima culpa! I was one of the voices which wanted Total War to marry Crusader Kings 2.

... and this is almost exactly what we got now! :)

Half the world is female now in this game. Cyrenaica, Delmatae, a bunch of Iberians and more.

Merkel of the Suebi. Gets a diplomacy bonus with arab and african tribes.

Is there any way to choose female generals (and named female generals like Cleopatra) in custom battles?
Chop Mar 9, 2018 @ 9:33am
Suebi, Arverni, Nervii, Galatia, Egypt, Kush, and Iceni are so far the factions I know that allow female generals.

Also the whole marriage thing is bugged for me, was able to ask Rome for marriage about 200 times one after the other and nothing happened, no marriage, but my approval rating went up with them. Rome now approves of me by 2120, but still won't accept an alliance, what gives?

Sounds like a bug. Rome never accepted anything anyway xD

I think all barbarian factions allow female generals, including the Ardiaei, Getae, Arevaci, Lusitani, Odrysian, Tylis etc. Only Greeks and Romans i think don't allow it. Maybe Armenia, Parthia and Carthage to.

I think it's potentially quite cool, really. A few mods spring to mind that people will want, to adjust the number of them, add new ones, etc. - as always it'll be a matter of choice, and now we have the feature and some content.

Also, I've already been challenged to h2h by a girl who intends to be Boudicca.

Heh, there's a mod in there somewhere, but I'm not sure you could do all of it. Hates Greeks, fears Iceni, bonus vs Suebi, etc.

Illyrians have them, just like real life (queen Teuta - 1st Illyrian war).
Celtic tribes have them, just like real life (Boudica, Cartimandua).
Egypt has them, just like real life (Cleopatra).
Rome doesn't have, just like real life.
Greeks don't have, just like real life.
Carthage doesn't have, just like real life.

So, it's all historically authentic. Why are you whining?

Well said. People are too quick to backlash against everything these days. I understand the reasons, but reacting without thought... that's a dangerous road to go down.
