How do I travel through desert without losing half my half before I've even ended my turn.

mm I think I'd rather have less attrition for realism instead of none at all.

1. Plan your route. The shortest route between two points is not always the best one. Try seeing if there are alternate routes that don't take you through the deep desert.

2. Stick to the roads where possible. Though not always the case, travelling along roads can reduce or even eliminate desert attrition.

3. Recruit specialised troops. Some units are immune to Desert Attrition, and so it can be advantageous to build specialised armies to deal with certain conditions. What units you have available will depend on the faction (someone like Egypt most of their roster is immune to Desert Attrition... Iceni, not so much. :spacemonster:) But there's always mercenaries to fill the gap, and the mercenaries you find in desert areas often are immune to Desert Attrition.

4. Accept that you're marching an army through some of the harshest, most dangerous conditions known to man, and that casualties are inevitable.

And most of all.

5. Adapt. Which is what humanity has always done throughout history. Facing a challenge and finding a way around it is, in my view, a lot more enjoyable than just downloading a mod to eliminate that feature.

Hope that helps.

All the Best,

Welsh Dragon.

Yeah, since I made this post I noticed there are pathways that don't give attrition. Thank you for your reply.
