Oh already deep in the main campaign. Playing as juli. Just got to 66% senate supporting me. Sadly negative loyalty.
Influence does not really effect loyalty, you need to look at the party traits. if you hover your mouse over them, it will tell you what they mean, and if they are good/bad. Some political parties are not worth the hassle and its best to force a secession. Also if you didn't know already you can hover your mouse over the loyalty number itself, and it will give you a breakdown of what is causing the negative loyalty.
Something I noticed that was obviously different was that your family was much smaller, with pretty much just one son and daughter, and their heirs at most. Also do you not know their age?
For that reason alone it might not be a good start, but chronologically speaking the right order would be yes, Wrath of Sparta then Rise of the Republic, Hannibal at the Gates, then Grand Campaign... etc
