how do i play as sparta?

I used to be able to play as the spartans because i have the wos dlc, but since i hadnt played this game in about a year i have forgotten how i can play as them.
any help would be appreciated

Are you referring to grand campaign or wos campaign? Grand campaign is all about speed for me. You need to take out athens, larissa and epiros as quick as possible then defend against macedon if they've declared war. If you betray athens and attack them while having treaties with them you have the advantage of taking there city when there army goes off to fight epiros but macedon will definitely declare on you. Try to get a treatie with the faction north of epiros (I forgot the name) to stop them from declaring on you straight away. when you've weathered macedon main attack roll over them (using mercs is a good strategy here). From there things should be peachy for you. Wos is pretty much take as much land as possible without ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ off athens till your too big for them to handle. At least that's what worked for me. :-)

^ i typed it wrong- i have the greek state dlc. but whenever i try to launch it it only comes up with RTW2. ive looked through everything i cant find how to do

So you have the Greek states culture pack and wrath of sparta but you can't plays as sparta on the main campaign?

It will launch Rome II, but when you start a campaign, you should be able to choose the Greek factions (including Sparta).

Greek Culture pack adds the 3 factions to Rome 2's Grand Campaign, not a separate stand alone campaign, like FOTS.

I have just tried launching R2TW and got to the menu, i have go onto Grand Campain but i cant see any greek factions... i used to be able to play them. What happens when you come back to a game after ages xD

Oh, a returnee. Did you get any overhaul mods previously, uninstalled, and reinstalled recently on the same computer? Then you have old out of date mods left in you hard drive. Go to your data folder and delete the old mods files, a mod file and a pic file, if there is a pic.

Can you access Massilia (as that's a FLC one, so you should have it regardless?)

I would suggest:

1. Check to see if the DLC has actually installed. You should have a list of DLC on the Rome 2 page of your library. Make sure the box for Greek States is ticked.

2. Are you using mods? If so, could be a conflict causing you to not be able to see/play as the Greek States. Haven't seen this with individual factions, but have heard of it happening with people who have used mod campaigns. If you are using mods, may be worth removing them to see if you can play as the Greek States then, in which case it could confirm it's a mod issue and you could then start trying to work out which are the cause.

3. As always, verify the integrity of the game cache. If it's a corrupted file or something this may be all you need to do to fix the problem.

If you wanna play any other faction, (non-dlc) you can aswell download the "All faction unlocked (updated)"-Mod from the workshop
