Rome 2 is a buggy mess. Unplayable.
Well, after a year long pause playing Rome 2, I picked it back up again.

I can make it a maximum of 15 turns before a faction AI move, in the End Turn session, crashes the game.I have had no such problem before, a year ago. I can only assume a patch killed the game.

Good job with those patches!

And I've played over 1300 hours with barely any problems, so would suggest the issue may be local.

Were you trying to load an old save game?

What if you started a new campaign?

Were you using mods, either before or now?

What OS were you trying to run it on (Windows 10 has issues?)

Was it a fresh install or an old install?

Did you try verifying the integrity of the game cache?

If you can provide more detail, perhaps it might be possible to identify the issue.

All the Best,

Welsh Dragon.

Nope, just you. I'm on turn 376 as the Iceni and all is well.

Are you running the new BETA version or the default? If the default, then this is the same version of TW:R2 that's been out for years.

Welsh Dragon:

1) Fresh game
2) It is a new campaign
3) No mods
4) Win 7
5) Old install
6) No, how do I verify cache?

If you didn't opt into the beta yourself, you're still running patch 17, which came out in August 2015.

Edit: Any updates you've received for TW:R2 since then have been changes to the launcher... advertisement updates.

Thanks.

6) Right click on the game in your library > click properties > click local files tab > click verify integrity of game files. If there are any corrupted files, it should fix them.

Also on the main menu, check the numbers in the top right. That will tell you your version number, and what patch you are on. If there's an * then you do have a mod file of some kind in the game, so you may need to go into the gamefiles and delete them manually.

Hope that helps.

All the Best,

Welsh Dragon.

Well I'm reinstalling. Lets see if that helps.

I think if you have Patch 17 installed, version number should be:

v2.2.0.
16155.736913

Can't double check as I'm currently in the Power & Politics Beta.

All the Best,

Make sure to delete your scripts file too. It's not in the install directory. Check one of the stickies for the location.
