Battle/Campaign difficulty , how to.

I don't know how to change the difficulty in the battle itself. When you are at the campaign, it has campaign difficulty only. Let's say I want Campaign in legendary and battle in normal. How do I change it? Must I change the battle difficulty inside the campaign under "settings" or...?

You can start a campaign on one difficulty, then go into settings and change the battle difficulty mid campaign (but not the campaign difficulty)... however with Legendary difficulty I think you are locked into Legendary settings for campaign and battle. It's meant to be a big challenge.

But I've never played Legendary, so can't say for sure, sorry.

Yeah, you should be able to do those. I can't remember the exact settings menu, but you should be able to find it fairly easily.

I tend to play Hard/Hard, or Very Hard/Hard. Gives me the right balance of increased difficulty without giving the AI over the top bonuses in battles.

Legendary isn't very difficult in the battles. The biggest thing to worry about is morale differences. Just gotta play smarter

After 10 years I am here to tell you that you should play campagne on harder difficulty, but Battles ALWAYS on normal difficulty. If you give AI cheats, it just destroys game balance. some unit classes (for example cavalry) becomes total useless and you are locked in strange grindy not interesting battles, where you can never flank.
I always playd legendary mode and I understood that Battle legendary difficulty is plain stup1d.
