Spartans are Ugly.
When I played the spartan,I noticed that they're ugly as kcuf.
-Cone Helmets
-Eastern like Beards
-Every face is almost the same
-Underwears
-No Sandals
-not to mention that helots looks like a spartan

The only soldiers in sparta that I think are just for marketing are those Spartan Captains, and Heroes of Sparta, since those units are quite awesome in looks and combat skills.

is there a mod that makes.
-Helots and perioikoi looks like Greeks.
-Replace Cone Helmet with Standard Greek Hoplite Helmet, and make the Royal spartan uses the Spartan captain/Heroes of Sparta Helmet.
-gives spartan units sandals.

also is there's a mod that completely remove the cone helmet?
that cone helmet reminds me of my school "Dunce Cap".
perhaps it's historicaly accurate,Spartans are the one who invented the Dunce Cap,and supply their soldiers with cone helmet,so they looks stupid, and the enemy will be distracted by those helmet, lol.

Want me to teach you how to mod Rome 2?
I still have some experience when using Rome 2 TWeak.
Don't worry,I will not force you to use a funny Thumbnail like in your Shogun 2 Additional Ronin Units mod.

Spartans were supposed to be basically dressed - hence the term "a Spartan existence".

Thing is, the Spartans in game are actually meant to more historically accurate for the period the game is actually set in, than the Korinthian Helmet wearing ones you see in pop culture (and Wrath of Sparta) who are from an earlier period than when the Grand Campaign is set.

But, as others have said, if you really don't like them there are mods about to change them. Just be aware that if you want to play multiplayer, you have to have either absolutely no mods or identical mods or the games won't be compatible.

All the Best,

Welsh Dragon.

It's historical. If you want the other spartans, play Wrath of Sparta DLC.

I think it's made the way they are to reflect historical accuracy of the Spartans.

♥♥♥♥ 300 the Movie.the only reason that the creator doesn't give them armor is to make them move more(the creator is a donkey,so he didn't know that most armor didn't hinder movement)

I don't think thats the reason they dont have armor in that movie. I think bigger reason is just to make them look cooler, since most of them are pretty bumbed up and fit guys.

But, there are million mods to change spartan looks if you're not happy with them. :steamhappy:

even though they do looks like a Bumbed up guys, they're missing one thing,Masculine armor did the same, and being naked practically makes you a Barbarian, the Greeks were known for their heavily armored Hoplites.

and this gone to far with the Rise of Themictokles Panis, where the athenian are not masculine ,got a lot of casualities, and still didn't wear clothes.

Actually, linothorax was the most common armor and it's not considered "heavy". It's made from glued layers of linen, sometimes reinforced with metal/leather. It was cheaper to mass produce and offered decent protection.

No one could afford to equip whole armies with body armors made of bronze/brass, the ones like picked hoplites got in this game.
