It is possible that you have a mod problem, and need to take them out, one at a time, deleting them in game folder, and then re-install one at a time. Alternately, some untick in mod manager, then re-try one at a time, and see if there is an incompatibiliy issue.
There are others that can comment on hardware that are on line.
I have attached links to other things to try as well.
Let us know how it is going.
R, Harper
Do you use mods? If yes, highly likely that 1 of your mods causes issues: RE-READ every mod-compatibility note and/or contact the modder.
Good luck!
Im using radious total war mod and some small (cosmetic) mods, all mods are compatibility with last game version
You run Rome 2 on extreme?!?! While having eveything maxed out EXCEPT your mediocre processor? Which is the most important part?!?
Apologies: but I have to correct myself, crashes mostly means issues with mods. Freezing or lag during campaign = what I mentioned earlier OR having selected higher graph settings your machine actually can handle. Crashes while during battles are soley due to insufficient hardware (or having too high graph settings selected your machine is not able to handle).
The the greather the area you conquer during a campaign, the slower & more sluggish your campaign map will be. Go to the graph options panel & turn down some of your graph settings -> just fiddle around what works best for your set up.
I run Rome 2 on High graph setting + Units size = large, with 67 different mods, no crashes, no lags, no freezes, no issues. i7, 16GB RAM, 2GB GTX = smooth campaign map & very smooth battles.
Good luck & enjoy your campaign :-)
